Getting down & dirty!

Well we are on the move again ... been there done country life back to life at the beach now, so here we are tarting up the property and getting ready for open homes next weekend.

BEHOLD!! 7 tons of dirt!

and just to prove that I helped...

and the final outcome minus the 15 cubic metres of mulch which will go on tomorrow yipeeee cant wait for that!

Spot the Wildlife ..oops I mean Wildmans!!

Fairies & Wizards 1, 2, 3!

Jess's 3rd birthday tied in well with dads 60th. We had a big party with fairies and wizards of all shapes and sizes frolicking in the garden and less gracefully on the magical jumping castle!!

Infact the longer they frolicked the less graceful they became until finally the last fairy fell asleep at about oh 3am!!

The Birthday Girl

Mum and Jessi

Jess & Auntie Charlie

The kids had a great day on the jumping castle...

... and the big kids

Happy Birthday too You...

Exhausted but still a big smile from the Birthday Girl at the end of a big day!

Chiggers turns 60

Well Dads birthday was actually about 10 days long and each day was just as exciting as the next!

First there was fishing in Townsville with the boys!

Of course the birthday boy had to catch the biggest fish ... well thats what he told me!

And LOTS of mudcrabs... yummy!

Then a day at the Gold Coast Turf Club for Melbourne Cup Day

A special Birthday dinner and Birthday cake! Luckily dad doesn't mind sharing candles with number one Grand-daughter!

The next day was action packed with a boat cruise and jet boating, we couldn't get the smile off Jess's face on the jet ski, she kept telling dave to 'go faster daddy'

Words of Wisdom from my Father-in-Law

Apple Computer announced today that it has developed a chip that can store and play music in women's breast implants. The "iTit" will cost $499 or $599 depending on size. This is considered to be a major breakthrough since women are always complaining about men staring at their breasts and not listening to them. Is this a great country or what?

See what I have to put up with!!

Grandma Ro Ro

As if Jessica didn't need anymore spoiling.... GrandMa Ro Ro is in town! I think it is great as all those horrible jobs like toileting Jess insists on Mum helping her! Here are a few pics of Jess and Mum and how they fill their days.

Usually starts with a coffee and cakey

then it's off to the hairdressers

A quick flutter on the horses

Usually shopping for a present, this present came a bit as a shock... introducing 'Jillie with a Willie'
Confused? Well Jess wanted a girl Guinea Pig and they only had boys!

this is funny, jess trying on mums... well you know what!!

You wouldn't read about this one!!

Alex is in recovery after breaking his neck... you remember that time when you stage dived and made a little wish that someone would catch you, well alex forgot to make that wish! Now the funny part... charlotte has had to do the duties Alex cant including rubbish duty... While taking out the rubbish she also hurt her neck, not bad but bad enough to pick herself up the latest fashion accessory... apparently they cant look at each other as it hurts to laugh!

Jessica's Friends

My blog tends to feature my family quite a lot and I suppose this is because I did create it for them and my kiwi friends so they could keep up to date with life in Aus. So I decided to show a few pics of some of Jess's favourite aussies!

Her Aussie Grandma and Poppy

Her cousin Zac. They are getting ready for bed, jess is having her bottle and stroking Zacs hair whilst he snuggles in - how cute

My lovely friend Becki on her 30th bday looking glam

Her Dad! She loves nothing better then to rope someone into the bath with her - she's not fussy!

Hot to Trot

I just had to share this pic with you of my big sister all glammed up at her work awards night.

Doesn't she scrub up well!

p.s. for those that were wondering the BB stands for the company name 'Baileys' not winning an award for 'Big Boobs'

Long time no Blogging!!

Well it has been 4 months since I last blogged, what a blogging useless blogger I am!

But I am making a blogging good come back!

Ok sorry it is 10pm and I am a little bit tired!

So lets go back to May when Aunty Vicky came to stay (Tricky, Tricky Vicky, Victoria, Godmother – she was given so many nicknames I dont think jess really worked out what her name was. In the end I think Jess made up her own name ... Toria)

It was a fleeting visit but we managed to eat drink and be merry and have a good catch up!

Toria and Jess Playing in the garden

This pic was taken at a festival celebrating motherhood (it was mothers day) it turned out to be a not so eventful hippy get together, but quite funny people-watching tho!

Jess enjoyed the folk music so much that in true chignall style she found herself a podium and had a boggy - on her own!

See there really are Fairies at the end of our garden... or gremlins!

Not sure who is teaching who how to gamble but there is definatley some cheating going on here!

When GrandMa came to town

Just a really nice pic of Grandmum and Granddaughter

PowderFinger at Currumbin – Anzac Day

Well 25th April was Anzac day, we didn't quite make it for Dawn Service, but got to Currumbin Beach in time to see PowderFinger rock on!!

This was our view on the beach watching the Finger, not forgetting to mention my little brush with Bernard Fanning himself as I took Jess to the toilet, shoulder to shoulder!! ... never washing again!

The weather was perfect, it was a great morning!

Here's Jess and Zac moshing to PowderFinger - obviously showing there excitment on the inside!!

Kazza-Mumma, Zac's mum, looking great at 7 months pregnant (and counting) with a baby girl.

Fairy 1, Fairy 2, Fairy 3...

Whilst Mum was over from NZ'd Jess and Grandma Rho Rho decided to have a girls day out with the fairies – a live show based on a tv programme over here.

So wings attached and wands in-hand, they fluttered off to the show.

It sounded like they had a fan-fairy-tastic day and mum bought jess their dvd which she just loves and between you and me I'm pretty sure I saw Rho Rho burn a copy to take home too!
